		<description>Regardless of solstice or Gregorinan New Year, there is precedent for celebrating the New Year after the event.  

Taking the Biblical New Year, Rosh Hashanah is on the first day of the seventh month.  The first month would be in spring, which makes sense for ancient Israel.

In fact the Gregorian New Year itself is a celebration of Solstice, based on the precept that the date represented an indication that the days were in fact getting longer.</description>
